Happy Monday Everyone!

Today your child is bringing home their first spelling list.  It is to stay in the back pocket of their take home folder.  That way it is with them at home to study and at school when we need it.  Please, please, please do not take it out and post it on your refrigerator!  make a copy if you want it for home. They need it to stay in their take home folder 😉

Friday is Focus Friday for the school.  Everyone will be learning the meaning of integrity, one of the 8 keys of excellence.  Everyone is asked to wear the color black. The second grade class with the most percentage of students wearing black will be the "holder of the key" for the month (trophy).

This week we are:

Reading :  Diary of a Spider and using the pictures to gain and understanding of the characters.

Language:  Writing narratives

Phonics:  short a and I words

Math:  Adding and subtracting within 20

Social Studies: making a world map and a globe

Have a wonderful week!

Here's what's going on in class:

Today in your child's folder you will find information about Science Club and yearbooks.
